96.7 WAES

As apart of my Advanced Radio Production class, I had to create content for my mock radio station. Following graduation, I developed a brand kit and did a small rebrand of the station.

This mock content creation project features 96.7 WAES, a CHR/Top 40 fication radio station located in Bloomington-Normal that I developed during my Advanced Radio Productions. Orignally, we were just required to create 2-3 mockup posts to develop our social media brand. Upon graduation, I revisted the project and decided to expand upon it to showcase more of my social media marketing skills.

Our core identity consists of playing CHR/Top 40 music along with being advocates and engaged members of the community. I researched other CHR radio stations to see what type of content, news, and videos they post. After this, I started colleting news stories and planning the content that WAES would post. Following that, I chose to do a mix between national pop culture stories and reporting on local news that is still relevant to our music niche.

Customer Profile

Taylor, 19, is a student at Heartland Community-College and has lived in Bloomington-Normal her entire life. She wants to transfer into ISU as a Psychology major and eventually work for the Parks Department in creating a communitity for those in need of mental health resources.

She currently works part-time as Golf Attendent at the Prairie Vista Golf Course. She listens to 96.7 WAES in her car and at work.
